DOMINICA GETS NEW RESIDENT REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE UNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME  

 

Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit on Friday, January 6, 2023 welcomed new resident representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Ms. Limya Eltayeb. Ms. Eltayeb paid a courtesy call at the Office of the Prime Minister accompanied by Head of the Dominica Project Office, Ms. Laura Hildebrandt.

Before paying a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Ms. Eltayeb presented her credentials to Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy Hon. Dr. Vince Henderson.

Discussions with Prime Minister Skerrit centered on advancing cooperation in climate resilience and energy efficiency, digital transformation, support for the Kalinago community and women in agriculture.

The UNDP Resident Representative assured the Prime Minister that her organization will continue to back Dominica’s efforts to protect the vulnerable and strengthen our resilience to climate change impacts.
