ANNOUNCEMENT: Vacancy/Web Developer

VACANCY NOTICE

Applications are invited from and suitably qualified persons for the position of Web Developer, Information and Communication Technology Unit, Establishment, Personnel and Training Department, Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica. 

The Web Developer shall design and develop the websites of various Ministries/Departments/Units; coordinates the implementation of website development for        e-Government; facilitates the compilation of data following web development standards of the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management System or related field
  • Two (2) years experience in database administration, website design and administration, web applications, web publishing and content management systems (CMS) are required.
  • Experience in graphic design, CSS, HTML, XML, PHP, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver and FTP Clients would be an asset

                      

  • Experience with dynamic websites
  • Strong creative skills
  • Experience with MySQL or knowledge of backend databases
  • Familiarity with web servers and web protocols
  • Experience with hosting/managing/coding a website
