ANNOUNCEMENT: Invitation for Prequalification of Contractors for Construction of Concrete Bases for LED Solar Street Lights

CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE BASES FOR LED SOLAR STREET LIGHTS

INVITATION FOR PREQUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS

In the interest of public and road safety, The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica will undertake the installation of 2500 LED solar street lights received from the Government of the People’s Republic of China. 

The first phase of this project consists of the construction of reinforced concrete bases for the erection and installation of 500 LED solar street lights along the E.O. Le Blanc Highway and 500 along the

Dr Nicholas Liverpool Highway.

The Ministry of Public Works and Ports is the executing Agency for the Project and will also be responsible for its overall implementation and supervision. It is expected that invitations for bid will be issued in April, 2015.

Consideration will be limited to experienced local contractors who have their principal place of business in Dominica.

The requirements for pre-qualification of contractors will include:

1. Experience as a contractor in the construction industry of at least two assignments of a nature and complexity comparable to the proposed project activity i.e. reinforced concrete works, within the last 5 years, each of a value of at least $EC 10,000 (to comply with this requirement works quoted should be at least 80 percent complete).

Interested eligible applicants may obtain the application form at the address below. Applications must be in English and must be submitted by 12:00 pm local time, Monday  17^th March 2015.

1. In hardcopy: in a sealed envelope which must include the name, address and telephone number of the applicant and be clearly marked “Application to prequalify for the Construction of Reinforced Concrete Bases for the LED Solar Light Installation Project”.

Contractors are to provide the following with their application:-

1. Income Tax Clearance Certificate form
2. Social Security Clearance

Interested eligible applicants may obtain the application form at the address below. Applications must be in English and must be submitted by 12:00 pm local time, Friday 27^th March 2015.
