Triumph is just around the corner for Dominica’s Natural Wonder, The Boiling Lake.
According to information submitted to GIS News by the Discover Dominica Authority, the lake, which is situated in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, is now listed in the top 25 out of 350 nominations of sites which hope to become the 8th Wonder of the World.
The quest for the world’s 8th natural marvel is being conducted by www.virtualtourist.com.
Virtual Tourist is one of the largest online travel communities in the world and a premier resource for travelers seeking an insider perspective.
The site, which attracts over 8 million unique visitors per month, boasts close to 2 million travel reviews and over 4 million photos of 61,000 destinations worldwide from 1.3 million members.
According to Nikima Royer-Jno Baptiste, Head of Marketing at the Discover Dominica Authority, “this is an excellent way to promote Dominica as the nature island through online and social media. It provides an avenue to make Dominica known to persons who would not normally know where the country is located geographically. “
She urged all locals and visitors to vote for Dominica’s Boiling Lake as the 8th Wonder of the World.
Voting for the 8th wonder of the world has been ongoing since June 3, 2013 at www.virtualtourist.com/8thwonder and will end on September 30 this year.
The wonder which emerges victorious will be announced in October 2013 and will be featured in a national broadcast TV segment on a popular syndicated programme and receive a massive media relations campaign push from virtualtourist.com.
