The Government of Dominica has recently signed a Trade and Investment Framework with the United States Government. According to Honourable Skerrit, the framework was signed as “precursor to the commencement of trade negotiations.”
Prime Minister Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit told GIS news last Wednesday that Government intends to engage the United States in negotiations for a Trade Agreement.
“We are now coming to a close with our negotiations with Canada. When that is completed we will move to our negotiations with the United States,” the Prime Minister revealed.
Honourable Skerrit further indicated that he believes the United States is being ill-advised regarding its policy to the Caribbean.
The Prime Minister expressed, “There should be more engagement and greater tangible attention in place, not only in words but in tangible and meaningful intervention from the United States to the Caribbean”
