The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) gave high praise to Dominica’s Office of Disaster Management on initiating Hazard Week. Hazard week dubbed ‘Planning To Plan Is Not A Plan’ ran from May 26 to June 1 2013.
The Executive Director of the CDEMA, Ronald Jackson, in his commendation, noted that the message of planning for disaster is not only for the Government or the Office of Disaster Management but should also be taken seriously at community levels.
He complimented the ODM’s early preparation and indicated that it symbolized Dominica’s readiness for the hurricane season.
Jackson wished the best for the management of the ODM and the people of Dominica during Hazard Week.
He encouraged also that the island take every opportunity to learn about adverse weather conditions and engage in all necessary steps to prevent significant impact on the island.
