Over 40 emerging and existing small businesses in Cochrane have received a sum of $250,000.
This, as government continues to invest in the small business sector with a view to making this sector a major economic driver.
The Hon Member of Parliament for the Roseau Valley, Dr. John Collin Mc Intyre presented the cheque to Chairman of the Cochrane Village Improvement Committee last Thursday June 29th.
Hon Mc Intrye assured those who have not yet receive funding that Government will make resources available to assist them in the new financial year.
At that same event, a newly rehabilitated road in Deye Ceten, Cochrane – Monica’s highway- was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Member of Parliament for the Roseau Valley Constituency, Dr John Collin Mc Intyre told residents that he is impressed with the quality of work done by the contractors.
The rehabilitation this road costed Government $146,000.
Hon Mc Intyre assured the people of Cochrane that this new road is just beginning of things to come for that part of his constituency.
He also encouraged the villagers to take care of their surroundings and committed to continue to keep NEP interns employed under the beautification programme in Cochrane.
