The 10th in a series of Small Business Training sessions organised by the Ministry of Commerce, Enterprise and Small Business Development ended on Friday, June 9th, at the Grand Fond Primary School.

The Honourable Parliamentary Representative for the La Plaine Constituency, Petter Saint Jean, who represented the Honourable Prime Minister, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit cautioned recipients of the small business funds.

“Since I represent the Honourable Prime minister I shall declare the funding that shall come in a few weeks times will ensure that you create for yourselves a better breed, a better cadre of business persons within Grand Fond, Morne Jaune and Riviere Cyrique. When the injection of funds is given, first thing you must understand, what comes to you as being free cost somebody else something. So, do not take the monies with the notion that it is free, you must account for the monies that will be passed to you.”

The Honourable Minister for Commerce, Enterprise and Small Business Development, Roslyn Paul, expressed how proud she was of those who received the training.

She revealed that a testimonial project would soon be launched.

“Money alone does not make it. We have also seen that there are a number of people who have started from very humble beginnings. They started with just a little bit and we at the Ministry of Commerce, we know that because there are certain people who are well on their way to succeeding who have some success stories to tell which we’ll be featuring at some time in the near future, how we have provided some very little resources in terms of finance for these people and they are well on their way,” Hon Paul stated.

The two-day workshop was held at the Rosalie Resort.
