The Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) brought Christmas cheer by donating gifts to over 200 children under the Dominica Children Federation on Wednesday.
The holiday gift programme was designed to reach out to FCCA’s partners in the Caribbean by providing holiday gifts to underprivileged children in foster homes or in institutions where holiday gifts would not ordinarily be possible.
Dominica has benefitted from this programme for over twenty years.
The gift items were brought by the crew personnel of the MV celebrity summit which berthed in Roseau on Wednesday.
The Hon Minister for Tourism, Senator Robert Tonge, thanked the crew for their gesture.
“On behalf of the Government and of the people of Dominica we really want to say thank you to the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association for making this wonderful gesture to the people of the Caribbean.”
Coordinator of the West Dominica Children’s Federation, Beverly Baron, also expressed gratitude.
The Discover Dominica Authority and the Ministry of Tourism thanked the FCCA for their continued efforts in bringing holiday cheer to underprivileged children throughout the Caribbean, and pledged continued support to this program and others in the future.
