Regional company, Harris Paints has donated two containers of paint supplies and other materials worth $600,000 to the Government of Dominica.
The Hon Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit praised Harris Paints for its commitment to Dominicans over the years and expressed gratitude for this gesture.
Chief Executive Officer of Harris Paints International, Ian Kenyon said he is pleased that Harris Paints could make this contribution on its fortieth anniversary of existence in Dominica.
He says the assistance comes to Dominica after his plea to the paint guild of seventy-seven paint companies in North America, Europe and Latin America.
Before Hurricane Maria this Labour Party Administration was well on track to achieving the milestone of building ten thousand new homes and repairing about fifteen thousand through Government’s Housing Revolution Programme. However, the storm left 90% of Dominica’s housing stock destroyed.
Hon Reginald Austrie who is the minister responsible for housing is pleased that Harris Paints could come on board to assist government in its rebuilding efforts.
