Scores of Dominicans and a few local businesses have responded positively to the Dominica labour party administration’s effort to nation building through the act of koudmen.
The Roosevelt Skerrit-led Government has embarked on a series of community-based projects across the country, the first of which is the reconstruction of a critical road in the Botanic Gardens.
One of the businesses responding to that call is Argos Dominica Limited. In an exclusive interview with GIS news, Argos Terminal Manager, Nicole Laville said the company provided materials since projects of this nature fall under the its cultural pillar of sustainability
“One of Argos’ cultural pillars is sustainability which involves giving back to the community where our operations are based so we thought this would be a good opportunity to express this pillar of sustainability.”
“Argos Dominica Ltd have decided to donate 15 palettes of cement which is a monetary value of $9,500.”
Argos has also been involved in other community-based projects.
“We had two projects; one is about complete and one on-going. We donated cement to Lindo Park developments which is complete and are in an ongoing contribution to a Kalinago housing development project in the Kalinago Territory.
