The Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association (DHTA) has launched its two annual flagship events which form part of its Tourism Awareness Month calendar of activities.
The two events, HikeFest 2015 and the rebranded National Tourism Tradeshow and Cocktail (NTTC) will take place next month.
The cocktail is beign coupled with educational seminars this year says Executive Vice President of DHTA, Stephanie Astaphan.
“Menu planning, alternative energy, digital media marketing and exterior design facilitated by resident consultants in each field,” she explained.
Astaphan says the support from the public has been overwhelming and the rebranded NTTC will feature 13 trade show vendors in 6 product categories, 7 travel partners and 6 artisan producers in addition to new partners.
“For the first time in the event’s history, the tradeshow will see participation of key international travel trade participants like Winair, Princess Juliana International Airport of St. Maarten, Express Des Iles, Hummingbird Air, Air Antilles…and many, many more,” she listed.
“The intention is to inspire their confidence and commitment to Dominica as a destination which will ensure the success of local tourism enterprises and support services and by extension the support of Dominica’s tourism industry.”
HikeFest 2015 features a hike every Saturday in May at a fee of $50.
Partners and sponsors for the events include Digicel, DOMLEC and Tropical Shipping.
